Who's In Mama's Belly?

We have been trying to teach Taylor about the new baby and have been talking about her a lot before she comes so Taylor will have an easier time when we come home from the hospital with Katelyn. When I ask her who is in my belly she has finally started answering, "Baby Kate-Kate." That is what she calls her. It is so sweet when she talks about Baby Kate-Kate and I think that maybe she is starting to understand a little bit. Whenever we see a little baby I explain to her that we are going to have a little baby at home soon. My hope and prayer is that she will love her little sister and not just be jealous of her. I know that she will be jealous some, but I hope that she will be sweet to her and want to be involved with her. I look forward to the day when they can play together.

This past Christmas Taylor also learned who Baby Jesus was. Anytime she sees a picture of Jesus in the manger she points Him out. Wednesday Taylor and I went to get our hair cut. The beautician asked Taylor what the baby's name was and she replied, "Jesus." I laughed and said, "No, the baby is not Jesus, it's Katelyn." This morning I asked Taylor who was in Mama's belly and she said, " Baby Kate-Kate, Baby Jesus." Daniel and I just laughed. I guess we're having twins....at least according to Taylor.

Taylor's 2 Year Pictures

We finally had Taylor's 2 Year pictures made this past Saturday. We didn't want to pay the high prices for a studio photographer, so I had a friend who takes pictures on the side make these for me. I think Jenni did a very good job and I was really pleased with how they turned out. We had them made at Bud and RuthAnn's house. Here are some of my favorites.

Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday all of the kids from the babies all the way to 5th grade led the music. The babies rode in the big buggy and those that were too small were carried in. The preschoolers rode in wagons. Taylor did not want to ride the wagon, so I ended up carrying her into the sanctuary. They all waved palm branches. They sang a Hosanna song and Blessed Be the Name. It was really sweet. It was a real eye opener to everyone as to how many children there are in our church. After the service, Laura Terry, our Children's Director, held a special luncheon and Easter egg hunt for the kids and families. It was raining, so we had to have the egg hunt inside. After the egg hunt, Laura presented the true meaning of Easter. It was a lot of fun.

Cheesy Grins

Taylor wasn't sure what to do at first.

Ooh, it's a dinosaur egg!

Hop, hop, hop!

What's up? These eggs are empty!

A basket full of eggs

Anna Kate's not sure what to do.

Taylor looks on while Anna Kate plays with her eggs.

Ooh, look at all my pretty eggs!

This one has ladybugs on it!

Taylor is fascinated by Joanna's Easter eggs.

Wow! Look at all the kids!

...or maybe not.

The least shall be the greatest - those with the least amount of eggs
in their basket got sprayed with silly string for their reward.

Daddy's Little Helper

A couple of weeks ago - right about the time the tornado warnings started happening - Katelyn's dresser arrived at Wal-Mart. We went to pick it up and Daniel put it together. Taylor loves being in the middle of whatever it is we are doing and always needs attention from her daddy, so she was right there helping him. She even helps him take out the trash. He empties the trash cans around the house and she carries the bags to the door to go out. It is so cute! These are some really cute pictures I got of her helping Daddy put Katelyn's dresser together.

Taylor's New Room

I did not realize how far behind I was in blogging and posting pictures. I just realized that I had not posted pictures of Taylor's new room. If you have seen these before, then I apologize for the duplication, but I just thought I would share them with those of you who were curious. Bud and Daniel did a great job painting. They even moved Taylor's ceiling fan in her new room to make it feel like hers. She transitioned very easily once we got home. I was a little surprised how quickly she took to it. She hardly ever goes in the nursery anymore and doesn't really seem to care that we changed rooms on her. That was a nice surprise. Of course, there have been a couple of nights that she hasn't slept well. She might have woken up just enough to not realize where she was or had a bad dream or something, but that hasn't happened much. I wanted to add a few touches with some stenciling, but we have been so busy lately that I just haven't had time to do it. I doubt it will get done before Katelyn arrives, so I am just not pushing it. It will get done one of these days. So, without further adieu, here are some pictures that Daniel took of the room. He spliced these pictures together to give a fuller effect, so that is why they look a little odd, but you still get the picture.
